A man has appeared in court after a disturbance allegedly involving a pickaxe in Glasgow on Sunday.

Emergency services were called to Maxwell Road in the Pollokshields area of the city at around 10.05pm.

A video seen by STV News appears to show officers apprehending an individual on the pavement. Officers wearing gloves can then be seen carrying a pickaxe from the scene.

Daniel Murray has appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court on charged with carrying an item with a blade or point in a public place and acting in a threatening or abusive manner.

The 46-year-old made no plea and was remanded in custody.

He is due to return to court within the next eight days.
