A man has been taken to hospital after he was struck by a car during a disturbance in Renfrew.
Emergency services were called to reports of an incident on Birmingham Road at the junction with Barclay Square at around 1.20pm on Tuesday afternoon.
A 37-year-old man was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow after being hit by a car during the disturbance.
Officers have charged a 31-year-old man in connection with the incident.
He is due to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court on Wednesday.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 1.20pm on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, police were called to a report of a disturbance on Birmingham Road at the junction with Barclay Square, Renfrew.
“Emergency services attended and a 37-year-old man, who was struck by a car during the incident, was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment.
“A 31-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection.
“He is due to appear before Paisley Sheriff Court on Wednesday, June 17, 2026.”
