Police ScotlandA man has been airlifted to hospital after a three-car crash involving a police vehicle in East Ayrshire.
The 56-year-old is in a critical condition at the QEUH after Friday’s crash on the A76 at Mauchline.
His Seat Mii was involved in a collision with a marked police car and a BYD Dolphin around 2.40pm.
The two police officers and the driver of the BYD did not require hospital treatment.
Sergeant Gordon Stewart said: “I am appealing to anyone who was in the area around the time of the crash to contact us with any information.
“If anyone has dash-cam footage, please check it as it could have captured images which could assist our enquiries.”
Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 1987 of Friday, 28 August, 2026.
