A 59-year-old man was pronounced dead following the collision on Old Sneddon Street in Paisley.

A man has died in hospital following a crash in Paisley town centre.

Police were called to Old Sneddon Street at around 6.15am on Wednesday, after receiving reports of a one car collision.

Emergency services took a 59-year-old man to the Royal Alexandra Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

Officers have now launched an enquiry into the incident.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 6.15am on Wednesday, December 28, police were called to a report of a road crash involving one car on Old Sneddon Street, Paisley.

“The 59-year-old driver was taken by ambulance to the Royal Alexandra Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

“Enquiries are ongoing into the cause of the crash.”
