A man has died in hospital after being hit by a car in Glasgow during the night.
Emergency services were called to the Bowfield Drive area of Penilee after a crash involving a red Nissan Qashqai and a pedestrian at around 3.35am on Thursday.
A 45-year-old man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
The driver of the Qashqai was not injured.
The road, which was closed for around nine hours while investigations were carried out, has since reopened.
Sergeant Ally Wright said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died at this very difficult time.
“Enquiries to establish the full circumstances are ongoing and we are appealing for anyone with information that could assist to please get in touch.
“I would also urge anyone in the area with dash-cam to check their footage and pass anything of note on to us.”
