An elderly man has died in Glasgow after his car left the road and smashed into a tree.

Emergency services were called to Glasgow Road, Garrowhill, at around 8.20am on Sunday, April 24, after a Black Audi Q3 left the road and collided with a tree.

An 80-year-old man was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

Enquiries into the cause of the crash are ongoing and investigating officers are appealing for anyone with information to get in touch.

Sergeant Douglas Scott, of the Glasgow Road Policing Unit, said: “At this time, our thoughts are with the family and friends of the deceased, following their tragic loss.

“As we continue our enquiries, I would urge anyone with information that could help with our investigation or any potential dashcam footage to please get in touch.”
