A man has died after the motorbike he was riding collided with a wall on Friday afternoon.

The 53-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene on the B788 Kilmacolm Road near Auchenfoyle, south of Port Glasgow, at around 12.35pm.

Emergency services got to the scene quickly but the man passed away. Police said his next of kin had been informed.

Road policing officers closed the road for four hours while they investigated and are appealing for witnesses who may have seen the black Honda motorcycle crash into the wall.

Sergeant John Bradford Road Policing Unit, said: “Sadly the motorcyclist died and our thoughts are with his family and friends. Our inquiries are continuing to establish the full circumstances of what happened.

“The road was closed for four hours while investigations took place and local diversions were put in place.

“I would ask anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or who may have dash-cam footage, and has not yet spoken to or provided this information to officers, to contact us as soon as possible.

“I would like to thank members of the public for their patience while we carried out our investigation into this serious collision.

“Anyone with information should call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 1364 of September 3, 2021.”
