A man has died after a crash involving a parked car in Port Glasgow.
Police were called to Clune Brae around 9.55pm following reports of the collision involving a Volkswagen Golf and a parked, unoccupied Peugeot.
A 38-year-old man, who was a passenger in the Volkswagen, was pronounced dead at the scene, while the 50-year-old female driver was taken to hospital for treatment.
She was later arrested and released pending further enquiries.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing, and witnesses are urged to come forward.
Chief Inspector David Doherty said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died.
“As our enquiries continue, we urge anyone who was in the area of Clune Brae and either witnessed the crash or has any information that may assist our investigation to contact us.
“Anyone with dash-cam or personal footage is asked to review it and please get in touch if it contains anything relevant to our investigation.
