Pedestrian dies after being struck by bus in early morning crash

The 39-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene after being struck by the vehicle on Argyle Street.

A man has died after being struck by a bus in Glasgow.

Emergency services were called to Argyle Street, near to Gray Street, at around 12.05am on Monday.

A 39-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the bus, a 44-year-old man, was uninjured. No passengers were injured as a result of the crash.

Officers are appealing for any witnesses to the crash to come forward.

Sergeant Nicholas Twigg from the Divisional Road Policing Unit at Govan said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who has died.

“We are carrying out enquiries to establish the circumstances and the cause of the crash.

“I would urge any witnesses, or anyone with information or personal footage that may assist our investigation to contact 101 quoting reference number 0008 of June 5.”
