Man dies after being found unresponsive on footpath in early hours 

Emergency services rushed to the scene after the man was found near Auchinairn Road in Bishopbriggs.

A man has been pronounced dead after being found unresponsive on a footpath in East Dunbartonshire. 

Police were called after the man was discovered on the footpath near Auchinairn Road in Bishopbriggs on Monday shortly after midnight. 

Emergency services responded, however the man was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Officers said the man’s death is currently being treated as unexplained.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 12.20am on Monday, June 13, police received a report of an unresponsive male on a footpath near Auchinairn Road (junction of Woodhill Road), Bishopbriggs. 

“Emergency services attended and the man was pronounced dead at the scene. The death is currently being treated as unexplained.  

“Officers remain at the scene whilst enquiries are ongoing. The road is currently closed.”
