A man has died after being found seriously injured in a North Lanarkshire home.
The 56-year-old was found within a property on Thorndean Avenue, Bellshill, on Wednesday night.
Emergency services attended at around 11.30pm but they were unable to save him and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers from Police Scotland were also in attendance and an investigation has now been launched into the death that is currently being treated as unexplained.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were made aware of a 56-year-old man who was found injured at a property in Thorndean Avenue, Bellshill, around 11.30pm on Wednesday.
“Emergency services attended and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The death is currently being treated as unexplained and enquiries are at an early stage.”
