A man has died and another has been taken to hospital after a disturbance broke out on a street in North Lanarkshire.
Emergency services were called to the incident on Hamilton Drive, Airdrie, at around 12.15am on Thursday.
A 30-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene, and a 27-year-old man was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.
He remains in a stable condition.
Enquiries into the incident remain ongoing at this time.
Detective Inspector Gary Smillie said: “Around 12.15am on Thursday, September 18, 2025, officers were called to a report of a disturbance on Hamilton Drive, Airdrie.
“Emergency services attended and a 30-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. A 27-year-old man was conveyed to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, where he remains in a stable condition.
“Extensive enquiries into the incident are ongoing and there will remain a police presence in the area at this time.”
