STV NewsA man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a woman found injured in Newmilns.
Emergency services were called to reports of an injured woman within a property at around 12.20pm on Tuesday.
Michelle Thomson, 47, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Sam Kelly, from East Ayrshire, appeared at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on Thursday in connection with the incident where he faced a single charge of murder.
The 26-year-old made no plea and was remanded in custody.
Kelly is due to appear in court again within eight days.
