A man has been charged with attempted murder following an alleged stabbing in South Ayrshire.
Police were called to reports of an assault within a flat in North Shore Road, Troon, at around 8.35pm on Saturday.
A 56-year-old man and a 49-year-old woman were taken to University Hospital Ayr for treatment.
On Wednesday, police confirmed an arrest had been made.
A force spokesperson said: “Police Scotland can confirm that a 51-year-old man has been arrested and charged in relation to the attempted murder incident in North Shore Road in Troon on Saturday, August 8.
“He is due to appear at Ayr Sheriff Court on Thursday.”
