A man has been charged with attempted murder after an alleged assault on a footpath in Falkirk.
A 47-year-old man was left badly injured following an incident on Kingseat Avenue near to its junction with Bowhouse Road, Grangemouth, on Thursday.
The victim was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he was treated for serious injuries.
A 45-year-old man has now been arrested and charged in connection with the alleged attack.
Police say they are treating the incident as attempted murder and the man is due to appear at Stirling Sheriff Court in connection on Saturday, April 11.
Detective inspector Rob Andrews, of Stirling CID, said: “Enquiries into this remain ongoing and I want to thank the local community for their co-operation so far.
“I am appealing to anyone who saw or heard any suspicious activity to contact the police as soon as possible. I would also ask anyone with dash-cam footage who was driving in the area at the time to check back to see if they have captured anything that may be of use to us.”
