A man has been charged under the terrorism act amid an ongoing investigation into “those involved in encouraging support for Palestine Action”.
Officers executed a warrant in Oban on Tuesday and arrested and charged a 59-year-old man as part of the investigation.
Anthony Harvey appeared at Oban Sheriff Court on Wednesday where he faced a charge under the Terrorism Act, which concerns the offence of addressing a private meeting to encourage support for a proscribed organisation.
The 59-year-old from London made no plea and was granted bail pending further examination.
His next appearance has not yet been confirmed.
It comes after campaign group Defend Our Juries said on Tuesday that five of its spokespeople were arrested as it prepared to announce further mass protests against the ban on Palestine Action.
