A man has been charged after a pensioner died following a truck crash in South Lanarkshire last year.
Robert Shira-Gibb was struck by a white Isuzu Grafter Flatbed on Glasgow Road in Blantyre at around 5.55pm on December 19, 2023.
Emergency services attended and the 84-year-old was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow, where he died the following day.
A 53-year-old man, the driver of the Isuzu, was arrested in connection with a road traffic offence and released pending further enquiries.
Officers have confirmed a 54-year-old man has now been charged in connection with the incident.
A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
