A man has been arrested and charged seven months after a pedestrian was struck by a bus on a major road in Glasgow.

Emergency services were called to Great Western Road at around 7.30am on Saturday, January 27, after a 65-year-old man was struck by a bus.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers have now confirmed that a 55-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.

A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.

A police spokesperson said: “A 55-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with a road traffic offence following a fatal crash on Great Western Road, Glasgow.

“The crash happened around 7.30am on Saturday, January 27, 2024, involving a bus and a pedestrian.

“The pedestrian, a 65-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene.

“A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
