A man has been charged in connection with a fatal crash in South Lanarkshire.
Victoria Cairns died in hospital on Wednesday after being struck by a pick-up truck in the Farmeloan Road area of Rutherglen on Saturday.
A 33-year-old was arrested over the incident and has been charged with road traffic offences.
He was driving an orange Mitsubishi pick up when it hit Ms Cairns who was walking in the area.
The 40-year-old pedestrian was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment where she died four days later.
An investigation to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident remains ongoing.
Sergeant Andrew Coutts said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the woman at this difficult time. They have asked that their privacy is respected.
“Our enquiries are ongoing and I would again ask anyone who may have witnessed the crash, or who may have dash-cam footage, and has not yet spoken to or provided this information to officers, to contact us as soon as possible.”
Those with information are urged to contact police via 101.
