Emergency services were called to Orchard Street in Kilmarnock after a man was found unresponsive at around 5.25pm on Tuesday, April 22.
He was pronounced dead at the scene. A 49-year-old man has been charged in connection with the incident.
He is due to appear in court on Tuesday.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 5.25pm on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, emergency services were called to reports of an unresponsive man on Orchard Street in Kilmarnock.
“He was pronounced dead at the scene.
“A 49-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the death.
“He is expected to appear at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on Tuesday, April 29, 2025”.
