STV NewsA man has been charged in connection with the death of a 59-year-old and the attempted murder of a woman after a disturbance at a flat in North Ayrshire.
Police were called to the property in Montgomerie Street, Ardrossan, at around 8.25pm on Tuesday.
Upon arrival, the body of a 59-year-old man was discovered within a flat. His family has been made aware.
A 24-year-old woman was found injured outside a block of flats and was taken to Crosshouse Hospital for treatment.
Officers have confirmed a 40-year-old man has been charged in connection with the death and the attempted murder of a woman.
He is due to appear at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on Thursday.
