A man has been charged in connection with the rape of a teenage girl in a wooded area near a castle.
The incident happened after the girl left friends in the woods near Bothwell Castle in South Lanarkshire, between 5.45pm and 7.30pm on Wednesday May 20.
Police said a 25-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident.
He is expected to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Wednesday.
A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
