A man has been charged with drug offences in Dumfries and Galloway after police uncovered £40,000 worth of Class A substances.

Officers confirmed a 27-year-old man in Eastriggs was arrested and charged with possession of the drugs.

He is due to appear before Dumfries Sheriff Court.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers have arrested and charged a 27-year-old man in Eastriggs for drug offences after he was found to be in possession of Class A drugs.

“The drugs have an estimated street value in excess of £40,000.”

The accused is due to appear at Dumfries Sheriff Court on January 24.
