A man has been charged after cocaine worth £175,000 was discovered in a car near Moffat.
Police stopped a car on the M74 Glasgow to Carlisle Road around 9.45am on Wednesday.
Officers recovered cocaine estimated to be worth £175,000 from the vehicle.
A 29-year-old man has been arrested and charged and is due to appear at Dumfries Sheriff Court on December 18.
Detective inspector Wilson said: “This was a significant recovery of drugs which have now been removed from our streets.
“Drugs are a blight on our community, and we remain committed to disrupting their supply.
“We encourage anyone with information or concerns about drug-related activity in their area to contact Police Scotland on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
