A man has been charged after an incident on the pitch at Hampden Park prior to Scotland’s clash with Israel.

Police said a 24-year-old man has been arrested and charged following the incident before kick-off at the national stadium in Glasgow.

Protesters gathered outside the ground in Mount Florida after the SFA announced the fixture would be held behind closed doors over fears of disruption.

Pedro Martinez Losa’s defeated the visitors 4-1 in the Euro 2025 qualifier on Friday evening.

Chief Superintendent Stevie Dolan said: “A proportionate policing response was deployed at Hampden during the evening of Friday, May 31 and we worked with event organisers to ensure the safety of everyone in attendance and those in the surrounding area.

“A 24-year-old man has been arrested and charged following an incident on the pitch prior to kick-off and will be subject of a report to the Procurator Fiscal.”
