A man has been charged after Glasgow’s oldest cinema was broken into.

Police were called to the Grosvenor Picture Theatre on Ashton Lane around 4.25am on Saturday following reports of a break-in.

Officers attended, and a 41-year-old was arrested and charged in connection.

He is due to appear in court on Monday.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 4.25am on Saturday, February 7, 2026, we received a report of a break-in to a premises on Ashton Lane, Glasgow.

“Officers attended, and a 41-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection. He is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday, February 9, 2026.”
