Cannabis worth an estimated value of £130,000 has been recovered after the search of a property in Glasgow.

Officers, acting on intelligence, executed a warrant in Abbeyhill Street on Friday, May 1 and discovered a quantity of cannabis.

A 51-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Detective Superintendent Steven Elliot said: “This recovery demonstrates our commitment to removing drugs from our streets.

“It sends a clear message that we will not tolerate illegal drugs in our communities and we will do all we can to target those involved in illegal activity.

“We remain committed to the Serious and Organised Crime Taskforce and Scotland’s Serious and Organised Crime Strategy.

“Information from the public is vital and we ask anyone with information or concerns about drugs to contact us on 101 or report anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
