A man allegedly drove over a roundabout and hit a bollard due to not being able to see through the “steamed-up” window.

Police were called to South Muirhead Road in Cumbernauld around 4.55pm on Wednesday following reports that a vehicle had lost control.

Officers observed that the car had a steamed-up window, and the driver couldn’t see clearly out of the windscreen.

Further checks revealed that the vehicle did not have an MOT and was declared to be off the road.

The 52-year-old driver was charged, and the vehicle was uplifted.

Around 10.30pm the same day, officers were called to Queens Crescent in Chaplhall following a three-vehicle collision.

A 42-year-old man who had been driving a van was found to have collided with two parked vehicles.

The driver failed a roadside breath test and was taken to the police officer for a urine sample.

Police Scotland confirmed a report will be sent to the procurator fiscal in relation to both incidents.
