A man has been charged after an alleged disturbance in East Dunbartonshire which saw a large emergency service response close a road on Easter Monday.

Main Street in Lennoxtown was closed at around 11.50am after emergency services were called on Monday April 1.

Dozens of police as well as the fire and ambulance service were at the scene and the public were urged to keep away from the area.

In an update, police said that a 38-year-old man had been arrested and charged.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 11.50am on Monday, April 1, 2024, police were called to the Main Street area of Lennoxtown, following a report of a disturbance.

“A 38-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the incident. A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
