Man charged after cannabis worth £70,000 seized from car 

A 39-year-old man is due to appear in court after police found the drugs during a stop on the A74.

A man has been arrested and charged after cannabis worth an estimated £70,000 was seized from a car by police.

Officers in Dumfries and Galloway stopped a white Audi A4 on the A74, near Lockerbie, on Thursday at around 5pm.

Around 7kg of cannabis, worth an estimated street value of £70,000, were recovered in the search.

The driver, a 39-year-old man, has been arrested and charged with alleged drugs and road traffic offences.

He is due to appear at Dumfries Sheriff Court on Friday.
