A man has been charged after a cannabis cultivation worth £1740,000 was discovered in Glasgow.

Officers acting on intelligence attended a property on Clarkston Street on Wednesday, May 27, where 290 cannabis plants were recovered, worth £174,000.

A 33-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection and appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Thursday, May 28.

Enquiries remain ongoing.

Sergeant David Dinnen said: “This is a significant recovery which highlights our ongoing efforts to rid our communities of dangerous and illegal drugs.

“Drugs cause nothing but misery and we will use every tool and tactic at our disposal to bring those involved in their supply to justice.

“Information from the public is crucial, and anyone with information or concerns about drugs should contact Police Scotland on 101 or make a call anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
