A man has been charged following an alleged sexual assault of a 70-year-old woman near a park in East Dunbartonshire.
Police Scotland said the incident took place near Colquhoun Park and Station Road in Bearsden at around 5.15pm on Friday, March 22.
They said the woman was walking near the busy park when she was knocked to the ground and sexually assaulted.
Officers had launched a manhunt following the incident.
Just more than a week later on Saturday, they said they had charged a 37-year-old man in connection with the incident.
He appeared at Dumbarton Sheriff Court on Saturday charged with “sexual assault with intent to rape to injury”.
No plea or declaration was submitted and he will appear before the court again in eight days.
Officers said a report would be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
