A man has been charged after £67,000 of drugs were recovered from a car by police.

Officers stopped the vehicle around 5pm on December 12 in the Craigpark Drive area of the city.

Cannabis with an estimated street value of £67,000 was found within.

A 30-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

Detective superintendent Steven Elliott said: “Drugs cause misery in our communities and this recovery highlights the important work being carried out as part of the Serious Organised Taskforce and the country’s Serious Organised Crime Strategy.

“We encourage anyone with information or concerns about drug-related activity in their area to contact Police Scotland on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
