A man has been charged after police uncovered £65,000 of cannabis during a vehicle search in Glasgow.

Road policing patrol officers stopped a vehicle on Great Western Road at around 3.55pm on Monday, March 4 and seized the drugs.

More than £3,500 of cash was also recovered as a 26-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with discovery.

He is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Tuesday, March 5.

Road Policing Chief Inspector Lorraine Napier said: “These arrests underline our commitment to the Serious Organised Crime Taskforce and the country’s Serious Organised Crime Strategy.

“Taking drugs off the street is a priority for Police Scotland.

“Officers are removing drugs from communities right across Scotland day in, day out, and information provided by the public is vital in helping us continue to do this.

“Anybody with any information or concerns about drugs within their community is asked to contact Police via 101 where we can then investigate.”
