A man is due to appear in court after cocaine worth over £1.8m was seized by police from a property in Glasgow.
Officers said 22.8kg of the Class A drug was allegedly recovered as part of an “intelligence-led operation” at a property on Wallacewell Road in Robroyston on Thursday evening.
A 38-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the discovery.
He is due to appear before Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday, June 10.
Detective chief inspector Laura Sands from Police Scotland’s Organised Crime and Counter Terrorism Unit said: “This is a very significant recovery and sends a clear message that we will not tolerate illegal drugs in our communities and our officers are determined to protect members of the public from this harmful criminality.
“It also underlines our commitment to the Serious Organised Crime Taskforce and the country’s Serious Organised Crime Strategy and we will continue to work with partner agencies to tackle this issue and make our communities safer.
“Information from the public is absolutely crucial to our work and we would continue to ask anyone with knowledge or concerns about drugs activity in their area to contact Police Scotland on 101.
“You can also speak to Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
