A man caught with more than 1600 indecent images and videos of children – which included a six-month-old baby – has been jailed for a year.
Duncan Grant, 30, was caught at his home in Glasgow’s Patrick area last June.
Grant kept the images in a hidden folder on his phone, as well as on a hard-drive and a computer.
Prosecutor Adele Macdonald told Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday that 1650 pictures and videos of children were recovered across the three devices.
Ms Macdonald stated that the girls were aged between six-months and 14-years-old.
Grant, who has a previous conviction for a similar offence, pleaded guilty to taking or permitting to be taken indecent images of children.
He also admitted possessing indecent images of children between June and September 2019.
Craig Grimes, defending, told the court Grant was sacked from his job in a city centre finance company following press coverage of an earlier hearing.
Sheriff John McCormick said: “Standing the number and nature of the images, there is no alternative to a custodial sentence.”
