Hunt for suspects wielding metal pole who attacked man on railway bridge

The victim sustained multiple injuries in the attack at Saltcoats train station and was taken to hospital for treatment.

Detectives are hunting two suspects who attacked a man on a railway bridge in North Ayrshire.

The victim was taken to hospital after sustaining multiple injuries in the attack at Saltcoats railway station on Sunday, June 22.

The two men left the station following the incident.

The first suspect is described as white, in his early 30s, around 5ft 10in with a slim build. He was wearing a grey-blue tracksuit and a black hat.

The second suspect is also described as white, also in his early 30s and wore a pink/red matching shirt and shorts set. He also has a sleeve tattoo on his right arm.

British Transport Police officer are urging witnesses at the station or anyone who recognises the descriptions of the two men to text 61016 or call 0800 40 50 40 quoting crime reference 2500074564.

Information can also be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
