A man has been assaulted and threatened at knife point in a robbery bid outside his flat in Renfrewshire.
The 35-year-old was on Saucel Crescent in Paisley in the early hours of Sunday morning when he was approached by two men who brandished the bladed weapon and demanded he hand over his mobile phone.
He managed to get away from the pair and run back inside his property where he contacted the police.
The incident took place at around 2.30am.
Officers attended the scene soon after and are now looking to trace the men involved.
The first suspect is described as white and around 5ft10 with a dark beard.
At the time of the incident he was wearing a dark hooded top with the hood up.
The second suspect is described as white and was also wearing a dark hooded top with a hood up.
Detective Constable Jamie Howarth from Paisley CID said: “This appears to have been a random and opportunistic incident and thankfully the victim was not injured.
“It is vital we trace the individuals involved and I would appeal to anyone who was in the area of Saucel Crescent in the early hours of Sunday morning to please get in touch.
“I would also urge any motorists with dash-cams who were travelling through at the time to check their footage in case they have captured the suspects, or anything else which could be significant.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland through 101.”
