A man has been taken to hospital with serious head injuries after being assaulted in Glasgow.

The 57-year-old was attacked on Paisley Road West at around 8pm on Wednesday night.

He was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment to a head injury. Medical staff describe his condition as serious.

The male suspect is Asian, in his late teens to early 20s, with a slim build.  He was wearing a black hooded tracksuit top with white stripes down the sleeves and a small white emblem on the left side of the chest, dark jogging trousers and dark coloured trainers. 

He ran off up Paisley Road West towards Cessnock subway station. Officers are checking CCTV footage for any additional information that could assist their enquiries.

Detective Constable Alastair Taylor said:  “I am appealing for any witnesses to the incident or anyone who may have any information to contact us. 

“This is a busy road with a lot of traffic and I would ask motorists with dashcam to check their footage as they could have captured an image of the suspect or the incident. Any small piece of information could prove useful in our investigation.”
