A man has been arrested in connection with an attempted murder in Paisley.

The incident took place on the town’s Stock Street at around 9pm on Saturday.

A 24-year-old man was found with “life threatening” injuries and was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital by ambulance for treatment.

Police have confirmed a 28-year-old man had been arrested in connection with the alleged attack.

He is due to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court on Wednesday.
