A man has been charged following an incident on board a ScotRail train.
British Transport Police had launched an appeal following the incident onboard a Glasgow Central to Kilmarnock train around 11.14pm on May 23.
On Thursday police confirmed a 29-year-old man from Kilmarnock has been arrested and charged and is due to appear in court later this month.
Officers have thanked the public for their help in sharing the appeal.
A statement from the force said: “A 29-year-old man from the Kilmarnock area has been arrested and charged in relation to this incident.
“He will appear at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on Thursday August 29. We are not looking to identify anyone else.
Thank you for sharing our appeal.”
