A man has been arrested after a bomb squad removed “items” from a house in North Lanarkshire.
Police and an Explosive Ordnance Disposal unit were called to a property on West End Drive, Bellshill, at around 10.30pm on Saturday after receiving reports of a disturbance.
Officers confirmed that a number of items were recovered from the house but there was no wider risk to the public.
A 45-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident. He is expected to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Monday.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 10.30am on Saturday, 30 September, 2023, officers attended a property on West End Drive, Bellshill.
“Items were discovered within and EOD attended. Enquiries remain ongoing however there is no wider risk to the public.
“A 45-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the incident and is due to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Monday, 2 October. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
