A man has been charged in connection with the death of a man in Inverclyde.

A 23-year-old man has been charged in connection with the death of Jack Trainner, who died in Port Glasgow last month.

Police were called to Brookfield Road around 9.05om on April 27 after the 27-year-old was found seriously injured.

He was pronounced dead at the scene with police later launching a murder investigation.

The 23-year-old man is due to appear at Greenock Sheriff Court on Thursday.

A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
