A man has been arrested after a woman was found injured and a body was discovered in a flat in North Ayrshire.
Police were called to the property in Montgomerie Street, Ardrossan, at around 8.25pm on Tuesday after a disturbance broke out.
Upon arrival, the body of a 59-year-old man was discovered within a flat. His family has been made aware.
A 24-year-old woman was found injured outside a block of flats and was taken to Crosshouse Hospital.
Officers confirmed a 40-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident.
Enquiries remain ongoing and a police presence remains in the area at this time.
