A man has been arrested after an officer was assaulted during immigration protests in Glasgow.
Hundreds of people gathered on Buchanan Street in the city centre on Saturday for pro and anti-immigration demonstrations, which were separated by lines of police officers and metal railings.
It was the latest in a number of large-scale protests and counter-protests held in recent weeks.
Police confirmed on Sunday that one man was arrested in connection with the assault of a police officer during the protests.
Officers said enquiries into the incident are ongoing.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “A 47-year-old man was arrested in connection with an assault of a police officer during a protest on Buchanan Street, Glasgow on Saturday, September 20, 2025.
“Enquiries are ongoing.”
