A man has been arrested after police closed multiple roads in Glasgow due to a “disturbance”.

Officers were called to Glebe Street in Cambuslang after 5pm on Monday in what police described as a “contained” incident with “no wider risk to the public”.

Police advised people to avoid the area with Croft Road, Greenlees Road, Howieshill Road and Vicarland Road closed before they reopened after 9.30pm.

A 46-year-old man was then arrested in connection with the incident.

A Police Scotland statement read: “A 46-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an incident in Cambuslang.

“Emergency services attended the Glebe Place area following a report of a disturbance around 5.10pm on Monday, November 11, 2024.

“Enquiries remain ongoing however the incident was contained and there was no risk to the wider public.

“Officers have thanked members of the public for their patience and can confirm the surrounding roads have now reopened.”
