Police ScotlandA man has been arrested in connection with the death of a 52-year-old who died in a common close in Renfrew following an attack on Monday.
Alastair Campbell was pronounced dead within a tenement on Renfield Street at around 3am on October 30.
Police say he was assaulted on the street by two men shortly beforehand.
Following a post mortem examination on Wednesday, police confirmed the 52-year-old’s death was being treated as murder.
Police have confirmed that a 47-year-old man has now been arrested in connection with the death and enquiries remain ongoing.
