A man has been arrested after an eight-year-old was left injured following a crash between a car and a cycle in Paisley.
Police were called after a Ford Fiesta collided with an eight-year-old boy on a push bike on Netherhill Road, at around 4.40pm on Monday.
It is understood the child was left injured following the incident. The severity of his injuries are unknown at this stage.
Officers confirmed a 43-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident.
Enquiries remain ongoing and police are keen to trace a woman who stopped to assist and drove the child to his home address.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers are appealing for information following a road crash on Netherhill Road, Paisley, on Monday, May 15, 2023.
“The incident occurred at 4.40pm and involved a Ford Fiesta, which collided with an eight-year-old male on a push bike, injuring him.
“A female stopped to assist, picking up the child and driving him to his home address. We would appeal to this female to get in touch with police.
“A 43-year-old male has been arrested in connection with this incident.
“Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 2621 of May 15, 2023 when calling. Alternatively, details can be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
