Police ScotlandA man has been arrested after a car crashed into a property in East Ayrshire.
Emergency crews were called to Kilwinning Road, in Stewarton, at around 12.50am on Sunday.
The 37-year-old male driver was the sole occupant of the vehicle, he has been has been arrested and charged in connection with road traffic offences.
Police say a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
Residents were evacuated from nearby homes as a precaution due to a possible gas leak.
Engineers attended and made the area safe – the majority of residents have since been allowed to return.
