A man has been arrested after armed police and negotiators were called to a flat in North Lanarkshire on Monday.
Officers attended the property on Shields Drive, Motherwell at around 5.30pm, acting on a warrant.
One of the two men in the flat proceeded to barricade himself inside. Negotiators and firearms officers were dispatched to assist with the situation.
A 41-year-old man was subsequently arrested. No injuries were reported during the incident.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 5.30pm on Monday, May 19, 2025, officers acting on warrant attended a flat on Shields Drive, Motherwell.
“One of the two men within the flat barricaded himself within the property. Negotiators and firearms officers attended to assist and the 41-year-old man was later arrested in connection.
“No one was injured during this incident.
“Local residents are thanked for their patience while officers dealt with this incident.”
